Ok, I know that no matter what I say teczm that it will not be a good enough reason in your eyes. Shoot, if I was you. I would feel the same way.
I have been experienceing alot of port scans both on my unix box, and on my other computers. When running visual route against the ips, 9 times out of 10. They were from china.
My machines are not for a business, but are home computers. The box that I blocked all of china on is my file server. That machine specificatlly was hacked before due to my lack of security percautions at the time, and I lost a couple hundred gig of files. I wasn't a happy camper, to say the least.
Due to me not knowing any individuals(except for you now, nice to meet you by the way) that live in that area of the world. I did not feel that I would inconvience anyone.
I appligise to you for this now, but access to that specific machine is very limited by the outside world. And I really do not want to be out a couple hundred gig again.
If I have the privalige of making new friends from that area of the world, I will change my security percautions and remove that specific blacklist.
